I opened the box and removed the packing material on a 700b e-bay purchase. It was advertised as having one dead channel and a power switch that would blow fuses when turning the amp off.
I've been collecting tools I hope will help me sort some of it out. Built a Dim Bulb Tester and have a variac. I also purchased a better DMM than I previously had, a soldering station and panavise kit. From a previous life, I do have some soldering skills.
This is just something to do on my part with no time constraints.(other than before I die!). I have too many working amps as it is!
Visual inspection shows that it has been dropped on its side. The chassis is shifted to the right from the faceplate. The front pot shafts (power switch and meter sensitivity) are crudely cut off. There were no knobs with it. The middle black plastic Phase Linear logo is split top to bottom.
Outputs - RCA410 and XPL910 in one channel, NEC2SD555 fill all locations on the other channel.
I will post pics as I go along. I hope to learn something while doing this.....
Time to open it up.....
