Just got back from seeing him. Dropped all the stuff off we got out of his truck. He broke the C2 vertebre, he should be dead...

Welcome back Lee. I've heard some interesting fish stories but this one is for the record book. It is hard to believe that Bobby was out of the hospital in two days after a roll over like that with a broken neck no less. Tell him to keep the rubber on the pavement next time - oh and say hi from the gang.

He was lucky you'd had his six. :drunken:

Thanks FaboNav!! Glad to be back....not much they can do for a broken neck. He has a pretty elaborate neck brace. 6-8 weeks heal time, which I thought was awfully quick..

Based on the windswept plus flattened shape of the truck cab, it looks like he was airborne at ~90MPH when he flipped that thing...

Was doing about 50. Left the road sideways and dug in the right front end and flipped. from the tracks he hadn't even traveled 75 feet to where it stopped..

Jeez, and going fishing sounds so laid back. That's an adventure not soon to be forgotten and you guys will be reminiscing about it for a loooong time. Bad story, happy ending. OK, not happy but it could have been a lot worse.

With the roof flattened like that, he was one lucky mofo. I bet he was not wearing a seat belt and if not, it probably saved his life.

By God Joe I never thought of that. I'm sure there are more bars accross the country like that , but the only other one I've ever seen was the Cowboy Bar south of Gillette...

There is a bar in Delaware City that does that, but some of it is non-US currency from people who have visited from elsewhere. Crabby Dick's, though I'm sure nobody else has ever heard of the place :)

Good to hear your friend is going to be OK.

I'm sure it wasn't unique, but it's damn sure a different atmosphere, thanks '73...

Cool. They used to be in Baltimore, but moved to Del City a couple years ago. Handy for me since I live right across the river from the place. Makes for a quick lunch trip on the boat if I don't feel like going further.
