I have a pair of Pioneer CS-T5100-K that had thrashed mids and one dead woofer with the other working but patched with some silicone and not likely to be matched anyway. They were free so it's BREWING TIME.

I put some nice poly (JVC?) mids in and both twweters and mids sounded fine, just one woofer dead, surround shot, killed by a terrorist or whatever.

The cabs are noting special, no grilles and I'll cover all three speakers over with utility covers and cover the cabs with felt or vinyl like a stack and put casters on them to use as DJ specials. Makes it easier to clean around them anyway.

They are supposed to be 150 watt speakers but really...I have to get a new port as well (no, a Dodge Monaco won't do).

Nothing drastic like some MTX things. 80-100 watt handling is probably overkill but if the working 15" only had some cajones I'd find it's match...

Ideas are welcome...

Oh god, my cabs ain't worthy...and it would dishonor the gods of Jefferson Starship to run the beasties at 1/10 of their true Moxie in cheap cabs.

80-100 would suffice, especially being a second pair and I have no amps with outputs (or need for) higher than my 120 watt maximum SX-D7000s. I might volunteer to do some dances for our peer center at some point and it's got businesses for neighbors.

Why not just replace the surround?
One is a silicone patch special and the other is a rather large deceased parrot.

As someone else said, How can you be a good anarchist and steal everything if it's all free?

Quote and party on, Mike.

I found these on eBay with about 6 days left and the seller is somebody I trust.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=291254469632 CS-911 woofers and the speakers were about the same in power handling as the one I have here. I've got these watched.

Doesn't mean I can get them alone but I've done it before with him...money is the factor.

Somebody bumped them up 34 bucks and valiant h***y (47) had to deal with their crap but kicked his ass at $104.50, or just $2.50 higher.

Of course, if that was one of you that got beaten then it sorta sucked.

Jacked those puppies right up in line with what other were asking for singles x2 though.

Well darn, those were nice. Back to the search engine.
