Mine try and I can feel it...If they can't there's an awful lot of noise coming out of the bass bin when I feed it a 20hz signal....

that's coz in reality 25 - 30Hz is about the threshold of where u can't hear audio any more and u start to feel the waves.

nah, it's fine.....
don't worry about the sparks. it'll soon weld itself together, and the smoke will eventually settle.
just lick each one to test continuity while it's still powered up.
you'll soon know if the capacitance is worth worrying about or not.
