I would like to introduce Alejandro, also known as Eidoscognito, to this forum.
You might have seen him on TapeHeads, and I have known him for a while now.
He's from Venezuela, and I think he's probably our first member from that country!
Anyways, I'll leave the rest of introducing to him

Thank you for such warm welcome.

Greetings to everyone there. Thank you for your support.
I´m still in the quest to find a nice 3 head deck. Which is an almost
unafordable task in my country.

Have a very nice day, you all.

Well, Nando: being close to be 40 this year, I had my start on very analogue sources. But, since I was a kid, cassettes were my main interest because of the question: What does it take to make the best recording possible?

For me, cassettes lasted shorter than I wanted. I still wanted to know what makes a tape better than any other. Besides that, I always liked the way a cassette deck works. It wasn´t till last year that I started to get some basic understanding of BIAS and recording levels on tape. I used to like saturating tapes with level, mainly because of my old tastes in music. Now I`m starting to appreciate conservative levels on music, and yes, you`ve guessed, I`m against Loudness War on digital sources.

Tapes are poetry in motion, If I could sum it all.

Thank you.

Pegging the meters on recordings is a macho thing and a result of bad marketing from all the companies of the day.
Tape is a delicate medium and depending upon the formulation, the source material and the deck used -
the most accurate reproduction is somewhere well south of metering in the red.

And Hey, and welcome to PHX ! :rabbit:
