What kind of power output can be gotten with a PL400 and 700b fully rebuilt and redone with White Oak Boards etc. in
RMS watts at least factory rated distortion levels. I figure some of you guys would know and have equipment to measure
such things.

Depending on rail voltage the 400's vary from 260 to 300 into 8 ohms both loaded and driven. The 700's will vary from 470 to 525 under the same conditions.

My 700b that was just transformed into a WOPL1000(Jessica) by lee hit 511 on the left and 512 on right at 8ohm. Not to shabby if ya ask me. And if that's what a 400 can do I see why I can actually hit distortion!

Lee, I would have assumed that they would have been more uniform than that. What causes this kind of Variance, Transformer, rectifier, line voltage
or what?

Mainly rail voltage Wayne. In the early days Bob's brother wound the trannies, and depending how much he partook, well you get the picture...I actually have a 400 tranny that does 108 on the rails , and that's HOT for a 700....
