I've totally lost the plot....
Finished….

JBL 2215

Not quite as good as I hoped, due to some wax on the cone that I just couldn't get off, but now at least working like a 'bought one'.

Beautiful job G - how much time did you put into this. I did not believe that it could look so nice considering the condition it was in when you received it. Did you use something to recondition the cone - besides the spots it look almost new.

Those who enter the man cave will get WOPLed
Very nice George, I'd say you have done that a few times before, brilliant job mate! I trust that you have a home planned for it in one of your many speaker boxes :happy6:

I will eventually get those spots out I think.
I was just so annoyed that IT and 3 other 15" JBL's were taking up too much space, so I just got on with it, and got it clean and working at least. Don't care wot they look like anymore if they're for personal use.

Can't tell you wot I used D on the cones, 'cause it's a trade secret, and then I'd have to shoot you, but I will say it's black and comes in a spray can, and looks like paint. (you have to really just 'mist' it over so as not to add mass to the cone, or clog it, as that would raise it's resonant frequency somewhat.)

I'm impressed G on your restoration of this speak. Nice technique - I would never have come up with that one.

Have I ever told the hot wax story here?
