I'm looking at the Pyle PADH181 speakers to use as party speakers. Can I drive these with my PL700? Is this a good idea, or will the sound like crap?

I'll be Using them for dance parties and outdoor movies, (I have a projector and screen), but not for hifi listening, of course.

Charles.

The 700 will drive most anything, with over 700 watts per channel into 4 ohms RMS a little fan action is required...

Thats a nice little trick I'm glad lee told me about. If you have a iPhone,iPod anything like that just hook up rca's and that 700 will give you plenty to get a good idea.the 700 will make them speaks sound about as good as they can I'm sure.

Ordering online, so that's not an option.

Man thats a hard call. The 700 is a old school amp. I'm sure back in the day they pushed many a pa speaks. The 700 is a amazing sounding amp. So as long as the speaks are good in the first place the 700 will make them shine. The 700 is not the weak link. So basically you need good pa's and it will rock the cashba!!!

Unless I've heard them before I wouldn't buy a speaker before hearing it. Granted , there may be some reviews that you can read but speakers are so subjective to the listener, Jase is right, tough call...
