I have located that Rare Earth Album, fetching now. Early 70's should be nice and fat.

get a signal generator. set it on 30Hz, then go shopping.
at that frequency, it's audible and physical and has the perfect sonics for travelling through the walls like a hot knife through butter, and just drives you nutz.

Mine try and I can feel it...If they can't there's an awful lot of noise coming out of the bass bin when I feed it a 20hz signal....
