You know, I hate to say it now because I just heard in on my public radio news (NPR) but according to CERT, IE is apparently semi-screwed although I'm told that disabling (i.e. UNINSTALLING) ADOBE FLASH PLAYER helps. I don't know enough about it but I've decided to stop posting You Tube and other video links for now and I can't watch those videos.

Now, to be honest, by the time it gets to the media it's usually pretty old news and half of it is crap and propaganda but I'm being careful for now because it was that old standby "your XP is unsupported" line again".

DON'T PANIC-The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

PS Don't panic again, but 60% of all internet browsers are supposed to be a version of IE.

Okay, after actually getting some decent information from a YAHOO! article I know what this is, and it's ancient news.

When they mentioned the name MANDIANT as a source of information, I tied it immediately to the fake FBI virus, which uses a Flash exploit to lock that fake warning page that tells you that you must have done something truly bad and need to 'pay' ther FBI with a prepaid card for a few hundred dollars...which is not only a scam, it's not permanent, you can copy the URL and place it in the restricted sites list in any IE on another page and then clear your cache/page file/temporary files and do what ever with no problem. AVG Free even blocks it.

More XP scare bullhockey. Carry on and do what you need to.

Better safe than sorry, even if it's more braindead stuff.
