Hello all been eyeballing this forum for a few days now and decided to take the grand plunge. I am an audio nutter like it seems most are as well on here and a huge fan of music. I do dig all genres of music (at least all I have come across) but my main focus has and always has been Metal in all of it's grand forms, (especially death metal). Gotta love having the talent of singing along with Grover Washington & Shotgun Willie Nelson and rolling right into a good pile of Immolation. In the last 5 years I have been exploring more and more music, but for the last 25 my area of expertise has been metal. That will probably always be so.

As far as formats I use whatever I am able to get my hands on, I am in all respects a thrift store rat, found some of my best gear. Reels, cassettes, minidiscs, vinyl, shellac, and cd's. If it holds music it's a friend of mine!

Also want to give a great thank you to Nick Danger for steering me in the direction of this forum, much appreciation!

PS The mini discs work great!

It's great to see you join up. Thanks Douglas for getting the word out about our forum. Wonderful to hear you are involved in a number of different audio formats and don't mind rubbing elbows with others in scooping up deals on vintage audio gear. I hope you find your time on here a blast.

Nando.

I am also a metal head. I have been a huge fan of the genre since the early 80s. Although I have wandered into other genres over the past decade. I can't seem to get enough of country-billly or underground country bands lately, but I always return to metal and punk. Welcome aboard.

Me too, I have a HUGE vinyl collection of Metal, lots of obscure stuff also. Not really huge into Death Metal but I have an insane collection of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost stuff. Some Burzum also. Welcome aboard!

Thanks for all the good thoughts, also glad to hear that there is some more metal fans (as well as all other genres) here as well.

So did you get one of the Sony MDs? I did and it is kick ass! ND is an enabler of the biggest sort and I love him for that. Welcome to Phoenix - you're in trouble now. :-o

Thanks for the kind works, Dennis. Mark lives near me and responded to my ad for blank discs. I told him about the site during our meeting and thought this would be a good place for him to lurk.
