Douglas: Taking a look at what you are offering for sale, those are fire sale prices. So, Dennis bought the Package #3 offering? Nice pick! I don't dare buy another cassette deck, until I sell a few myself. I delved into DAT but it's been a long time since I used my deck. There isn't much interest with members in swapping DAT mixes.

Thank You Douglas!

Just another class act by a member here on our forum. Today, I received a package from Douglas. I bought five 10-packs of Sony Neige MiniDiscs from him shortly after he placed his advertisement in this thread. Included with my purchase, were 10 extra JVC MiniDiscs Douglas sent my way and he paid the extra postage. I am well-stocked on MD blanks.

And, I also received Douglas' 7" open-reel mix tape titled "Nick's Jazz Mix 2014." We had agreed on an open-reel mix tape exchange, and he has already recorded his tape for me. I had been caught up in many other commitments for other members, so I am slow out of the gate for recording Douglas' tape. In fact, I have had my Pioneer RT-707 parked for over a year. Now, I have a reason to connect it back into my system. My favourite type of recording is on open-reel - I just don't do it as often as I like to.

Thank you very much, Douglas, and I am eager to hear your mix!

Nando I hear that as far as playing my 707's as well. It's kind of hard after working all day and then coming home to get the chores done I bet for you? I don't work and I have a hard time sitting down and enjoying all the stuff I have acquired these past few years. I would have loved to by Douglas's stuff, but I already don't use the stuff I do have.
Just ranting:toothy2:

Hey, Robert, it takes a little nudge to get me motivated, then I become immersed like I had never skipped a beat. I have to say, it's more time consuming to record an open-reel mix tape from various artists than it is to record an entire album to each side of a tape. That's something that takes a commitment in time... but, I love the results!

Hey Nando,

How do you save your PMs? Do you move them to your system or is there a way to archive them to the server?

Thanks - Nav
Check the ones you want to save and use the button at the bottom that asks you what you wanna do to select one of the save options...if you don't have a program like Excel that uses CSV files save them to a location on your computer as text TXT files...you can archive them as you choose although they won't be in the format used here nor will they have images so save them as well.

THEN you can safely delete, or just delete the ones you don't need to ssave anymore.

IF you have 1250 messages combined in Inbox and Outbox you are an admin or a Lama if they accrue quickly here anyway.

Last night, I patched my Pioneer RT-707 into my main system to begin listening to Douglas' open-reel jazz mix tape. Great tunes on this one, and many songs I have not had the previous pleasure of hearing. That's what mix tape exchanges are all about!

Ben: My step-daughter, Lorna, plays guitar. She has been living with us these past eight months and the upstairs master bedroom, where my main stereo is, has been her room. But, she has found her own place and will be moving by May 1st. I can't wait to get my room back!

Lorna has an acoustic guitar: Seagull S6 + Folk.

My youngest son also plays acoustic guitar. His guitar is here at the house, but he lives in Montreal.

If I came to visit could I stay in in the upstairs master bedroom? I wouldn't stay long, just for the summer. :rabbit:

8 months is a long time...
Actually, it flew by quickly, Lee. With her using my main listening station, that has been the biggest reason I haven't caught up on my mix tape commitments, or had a good opportunity to let the leash out Doug's Ampzilla.

John: The upstairs master bedroom is our guest room. My best friend and his wife visit us often from where they live about 6 hours drive out of town.

There is a familiar sight;). Hope it sounded okay, Nando as this was my first open reel tape trade with my Pioneer RT 707.

Douglas: Yes, it's good. There's a moaning saxophone on Side B that caught my attention when I hit the auto-reverse button 1/3 of the way through Side A. You did a nice job recording from vinyl to digital Master and back to analog. I just ordered a Behringer UFO-202 to begin transferring my vinyl to digital files. That will be a first for me. I like the Ampex 632 tape. Which bias and eq settings did you use on your 707 when recording onto the Ampex 632? Was it Std for bias and LH for eq? I hope to hear your tape in its entirety this weekend.
