Files need to be converted to play in a CD player Ron.
So how do I do that? I am SO aggravated right now and I'm ready to snap this stupid flac cd in half. What a waste of friggin' money. It was only $2 for the download so maybe I am overeacting but what the frig is the point of this format if you can't use it in a REAL stereo system without changing it to .wav

No way I am running a 20' set of cables to my system from the desktop

Cripes, I could have downloaded it like that

I've totally lost the plot....
some cd s/w will convert a flac to a cd sound file while burning on the fly.
you have to tell the s/w to burn an 'audio cd' then load the flacs into it.
should have a workable cd after that.

cd's are cheap. around $0.25 last time i bought some.
correction: $16 for 50.

That's why you need a dac Ron! So you can go from your puter. You will have to take the flac and convert it to mp3 or something to get your CD player to play it!!

Unless he has a CD player that plays MP3's that wont work either. The files need to be converted to WAV format. Most CD burning software that has audio CD capabilities will convert for you.

Flac is the highest possible quality for compressed music, to be played in a digital player or on a computer. It needs to be uncompressed for it to be readable in a CD player.

NEVER convert to mp3.
it is the worst possible codec to use for high fidelity.
As mentioned, convert to WAV (or Aiff if on a Mac.)
either way, somewhere in your burning s/w it should have that option.

My desktop is 20' away from my system Jason, neither can be moved closer. I will look at the program again. Last thing I want is MP3 so I will see about the .wav now. I have about 50 cd-r's and rw's so I guess I can mess up a few figuring this out or I have a feeling this computer is going to fly though the picture window. When Ron gets on a mad on, it a'int pretty

Sorry Bros, I know I am acting like an ass right now but I am stressed to the T and just about at the snapping point

Well I guess I've showed my ignorance lol!! I listen through my dac. But if I burn a disc it does it for me lol. I don't know what form it's in but I know it plays! I use foobar as my player on computer and a sony blu ray as my disc player. Both are run through dac

you should invest $20 in a sound card, then run a 6 metre rca to rca signal line to your amp.
6 metres is no big deal. don't let people convince you it'll cause problems with rf or signal losses. it's all rubbish.
you'll be so glad you did, as you'll never have to use another cd ever again, as your pc will become your music system's player. (as well as still be able to use your cd player etc.)
