Those who enter the man cave will get WOPLed
Its cooling down, but the heatwaves can come back now and then. I really like winter though, tonight is cool enough. Going to get some sun tomorrow hopefully.

I've totally lost the plot....
Wish you guys could have been at Tim's the other day, 10 hours of flat out music and sonic heaven. Gonna break Kev's K's outta the storage shed and fill in the other 2 corners at Tim's and see what an all 4 corners thing will do to standing wave propagation--------should be a blast, and an added bonus----Kev will not have to go through that arduous task of "breaking in " his K's, we will graciously tackle that project, snicker, snicker...the Pig made me do it, he's getting tedious...
I've heard a setup with a la scala in each corner and it was brain crushing.
I'm dragging out my horn stuff as soon as I can figure out how.
…. but it will mean I'll have to use my pair of 700 II's to power it all up as well.

A pair of these K's is mind blowing and in all fairness those Soniphase were close but they don't go down as far as the K's do, and not as good down low. Mid horn and tweet were the same as my K's so that was a good thing and we did prove the 1526S Crites is not for that cabinet, the EVX-155's were a totally different animal and more efficient than we realized at first..

Front firing, back loaded bass horns??
Yep! JBL 4530 J-Bins.
The front works from 160Hz up, and the rest down spews out the bottom but only to about 35Hz. Still plenty.
It helps having something like a JBL 2215 15" woof, which can actually go down to 20Hz, but not in that box.
It's still pretty low tho'.
The horns are loaded with JBL 2441 Drivers that have 4" voice coils and can go down to about 500Hz, but those horns have a cutoff around 800Hz. Near enough for rock'n'roll.

What's the upper cross on the woofs?
anything from around 800Hz upwards (variable.)
al depends wot i'm listening to and how loud.
sometimes, even tho' the hi horns have a cutoff at 800Hz, you can still push 'em lower to just above 500Hz, but best only done at low SPL's otherwise the diaphragms start shattering.

The famous "CRACK" eh??
They are the JBL 2360A.
I got some smaller ones too. The JBL 2344A that were on some of the classier monitors they made. (4430 and 4435)
There's even a smaller one again, but I don't have them any more. Someone stole 'em. :(
…. but I got a lovely collection of JBL Horns. Don't really know wot to do with 'em, but something will come along.

…. anyway, off to bed. L8r...

Well, the one thing that puts me in an instantly GREAT mood, is turning on my 'current' stereo, and I hear NOTHING!
No hiss, no hum, no line noises, just nuthin'. even with your ear hard up against any of the drivers.
you'd swear it wasn't even on.
God, I so love that…… Awesome!
Almost every system I've ever slapped together be it at 'work', or at home has always had 'something', but this thing, absolutely dead quiet.
I get a very slight 50Hz showing up on my analyser, but as soon as I move one of my hard drives under my desk, it disappears. (it's just a harmonic of a resonance through my desk of the disk spinning that gets picked up my my mic.)

Love this sh*t! :glasses8:
