Ok, so I have a few ways I can go here and I figured I'd gather some opinions. Here's the situation - Awhile back I had nabbed a pair of Mach 2's. The surrounds on the mids and woofers were toast. For the mids, I found a decent enough replacement - no issues there. But for the woofers I don't think I did as good of a job matching up the specs - The woofers I purchased while good for PA use (read.. LOTS of volume in the cabs, obviously), aren't quite doing it for me. I suspect it has to do with the Mach 2's cabinet size (way too small for 15's imo), so I think what I am looking for are 15's with the nice flexible surrounds i.e. the "long throw" kind.. something like that.
I really can't refoam the originals... as the cab's been under the saw already - the flanges for the woofers I have now were a bit bigger (yeah hindsight.. anywhoo.. ).
So what's the best way to go about this? I've also read where some suggested either changing the length or the width of the port tube (that is way smaller compared to the CV's). Dampening material also helps (there's not much in there at all).
Here are the specs for the originals.. note, since we're also going to be driving these with at least a WOPL'd 400, the replacement better be able to handle some power.. I'm all ears here... what would be a good 15" replacement, which also now fits the TYPICAL 8 hole pattern?
