Yamaha TC-1000 deck

I know someone who recently pulled one down from the closet, it plays then stops, prolly a belt or two needed, who sells belt kits? I can't remember, help!

Does the meter run. If not it thinks it is at the end of the tape and will stop. It is the belt. I have not seen one of those. You know where to get belts. Marrs.

The last TC-1000 I worked on the main drive belt had liquified and turned to a sticky black goo. Cleaned off real easy with acetone.Got a replacement belt at Ken'sElectronics.

Another tip for what it's worth: I just cleaned belt goo from my Teac using WD40, followed by IPA. Was surprised that it worked very well and it doesn't harm most plastics as many solvents do.

Acutally the guy with the Yammie lives in Merry Old England, so it might not be that bad....
