Yamaha K-950

I just scored a Yamaha K-950. I had never seen one before. It has a silver face and no cassette door. I got it for 9.99. Needs belts I'm sure. Has anyone else ever seen a silver faced Yamaha?

Well I got the deck. Every belt is dead or nonexistent. Lot of gooey stuff where belts were. LOL Trying another belt seller on the deck. It is kinda cool with the silver face and a wooden case. Never saw a Yamaha with that configuration.

I never looked at the model number when it got here till today. What a bone head I am it is a K-850. I feel stupid. LOL

Hi Larry,
It looks like you are hear alone so I will join you. What is wrong with the K850?
I don't mean what need repair but why is it a less than desirable unit? I am not familiar with the Yamaha line but so far the K1000 doesn't look like too bad of a unit if we could get parts. I got the heads for the K1000 that you sent me but I am not sure any of them are going to do. I will have to do some research but a Teac Head at this point might be your only choice if you are willing to go along with that- it all depends on if it will fit correctly.
I put a Teac head into a Aiwa unit once.

I think it is just belts. No it is nothing great. It is just a different looking Yamaha. It has a wooden case and no door. And some other things I haven't seen on a Yamaha. I have the manual coming now that I read the model number and not what was on the ebay sale. LOL

Well I have found another K-850 for sale. Will see what it goes for. I am bidding. I am trying to build up my Yammy collection. I need a 2000. They don't show up often and get kinda spendy.
