I think there is one local to me and cheap, like $50 or less in working order.

Seems like a nice deck.

Opinions?

Thank You,
Joe

Larry loves them and Sutton aka 'ksrigg' is looking for one, I think you should get it!! If you don't like it I'm sure Sutton would gladly take it off your hands :D

$50 is a great price for a nice working deck :thumbright:

Well it was an interesting day. I found 6 NOS Maxells, 50 cents each and picked up the 1020. It's a looker and in decent condition charged me $30 and tossed in an old Kenwood timer AT-80.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working right now. looks like one side grabs on the left and the other just sits there. Oh well. I'll try cleaning up, look it over we'll see.

I also saw a Pioneer reel to reel rack mount style 707. Cosmetically good, really good. Except the take up reel was bent.

Anyway I'll have to tear into the yamaha another time I guess.

Cheers.

I guess it needs some belts and a good clean inside.

How much was the Pioneer 707?

We're trying to stockpile nice parts stuff here. Larry and Jerry, weren't we gonna have a section for that?

Yeah it looks like it needs belt(s). I got it to play temporarily and fast forward. I noticed the big belt inside is really Loosey Goosey, like my Pioneer was. Most likely this is it. It seems to really want to do things but cannot.

Marrscommunication seems to be the only way to get these. Surely there MUST be another way...

Anywho. I think the 707 was $175 but negotiable. Doesn't appear to be functional without a deep cleaning and inspection. Seller cannot conform function other then moving forward and backward.

Whoa! $175 for a non working 707, what's he asking for the pot he's smokin' then

I was thinking if it was like $30 bucks or close to that, he's asking alot for a pretty door stop.

It could be working... But yeah that's a lot for a boat anchor.

I ordered a belt from: http://www.vintage-electronics.cc/index.html
Hopefully this is a good place and it is all that is needed.

The Yamaha appears to be very well stored as it looks very new in many ways.

It could be the idler tire. I pulled a wire off of one of my motors so I haven't put mine back together yet. I got a Std. and another belt in my kit from Fred plus the tire. So I am waiting on the manual to see where the wire goes. Good Luck.

The idler tire. That's accessible from the front correct? How can I get one?

Do you need manuals? PM me an email address.

My manual is on its way.I pulled the whole transport to the to get to the tire.It wasn't hitting where it should be. My motors were turning.Just nothing happening.I get all my belts from Marrs. The kit came with the tire. They may cost more;but the belts are very good.

I ordered from Marrs for my CTF9191 and it was fine. He's away at moment. The kit I just ordered from Vintage says 2 belts. Maybe 1 is the tire since the deck only requires 1 actual belt that I can see.

My motors also turn and nothing happens mostly.

Pure-Brew , there is a problem with thew clutch on the shaft of the 9191. Mark the Fixer over at AK has documented the problem and has actually engineered a replacement part to actually make it better than factory. I have not been folllowing your thread too close but something here lately caught my eye and it sounds like your symptoms echo theirs. I'll post a link to the thread and post back here, this may be what you're needing.

I also have a CT-F9191 and that thread stuck with me as I may have to reference it in the future.

Thank you for the reference. Now that my 9191 is fixed, hopefully I won't need to do anything else to it for awhile. I'm expecting some really good performance from this yamaha once I get it going.

Well crap. I guess I need the tire. I have the same results as before. When I hit play it doesn't want to move. Or, when I hit play I get a ff with no head engagement, but noise. It will ff, no rew.

I did get the heads to engage for a minute a heard music. Didn't last when
I stopped it I couldnt get it back.

I can't see how to take this tire off. I can get at it from the front but I don't see how the ring comes off. Sad. If you have an alternate suggestion for where I can get the tire, that would be cool. I don't want to wait 6 week etc for Marrs. Maybe I should email him. I already have the 2 belts I just need the tire.
