I've been meeting all kinds of tube fanatics right here in this cowtown, there's a huge sub-culture here I never even knew about. Well, I met this guy that has Frank Sinatra's tube stereo in this pic....most of it...I haven't seen it with my eyes yet, but he doesn't seem like the type to make that up. I'll get pics soon.

Moi?? Hehe, this guy grew up in Germany, his home is full of Telefunken's tube radio's and while he was in Palm Springs years ago he bought Frank's system at an auction. I'll report back with the pics next week...can't wait to hear that baby, I might even smoke a ciggie in his honor

McIntosh with the center speaker. Those might be Belle Klipsch speakers. The 3 channel Ampex was used in the very early days before multi tracking. Anyone with Alexander Spence's "Oar" album can see similar decks on the back cover.
