It's your eBay anniversary--year 5
stuwee20,

having you as an eBay community member. All of us at eBay
wish you the very best in the year to come.
Thank you!

That means I've been online for a little more than 5 years now and still haven't learned proper on-line ettiquette :thebirdman: :snorting: :thebirdman:

I hated computers, still do :sign11: , but Dale's JVC A-X1 integrated amp drove me nuts cutting in and out all the time, Hmmmmmmm, me thinks a replacement is in order. Everyone kept buggin' me saying to just go on the net and research, Grrrrrrr! I says. I finally just did it and after the initial forays into the wonderful world of on-line porn, I jumped into finding an amp to replace the ailing JVC. Dale the doughe, says I'll fix it, yeah right, it's been doing that since I moved in here, your gonna blow a tweeter in the DCM's....cont......

.....cont, I wanted something vintage and cool looking, but it had to sound nice and have some grunt, 1st I looked at Tandberg and Luxman receivers because I'd heard them and loved the quality. Sniffing around I stumbled on that famous Marantz ad for the 2270, "the fire started on the first floor" one.

I read reviews and said That's the One. My ebay habit had begun, it was my first online purchase! I got it around this time in '06, love at first listen with the ML's (I had to try it with my system 1st  ). Then I found AK, well I was informed 4ohms or less into a vintage Marantz is very bad! Drat, but it sounds so nice....hmmmm, pre-out it with the SAE little grunter! Dale by now wants his receiver, so back to ebay for another one with a wood case  . I only have 190 or so buys under my belt, just a blue star.

Hay-sus stuwee, what are you prattling on about you ask? Dunno, just playing tunes and sharing my journey, what a trip :joker:

I think I'm 800, mostly buying industrial electric stuff for Marlin Oil.

I'm at 510; but after they are so old they start deleting them or they use to. I have been going there along time.My 1st time I had to beg the guy to give me a chance with no feedback. Forgot what I bought.

Same here, I had (0) after my username, it was the dealer in SC who always has nice Marantz's reburbed, he was very nice, said everyone has to start somewhere, when your payment clears I'll ship it out. I sent him a USPS cashiers check overnighted (he said that was fine to pay that way). Great guy, but he didn't have another with a wood case when I needed a 2nd one, but pointed me to a bud of his in Denver that had a nice one   that's customer service!!

What was this thread about? :cyclops: I've been on ebay for 12 years. just a youngster in the cyber world. :bootyshake: August 6th, 1999

That Marantz Fire ad was kind like the old Timex Ads "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking".
