Got around to performing the transplant today, went relatively easily. Not my cleanest wiring job but it works! Offsets -.06 and -.07 but the bias still sits high at .420 and .407 with pots trimmed back to the minimum setting.
While not far off from the ideal value, I am willing to accept that if you guys say it`s good.

Cant wait to give it a test drive :)

Coolness!! The bias really isn't that high. If you were going above 450-480 we'd have ya change out R38,39 to 15 ohms instead of 10 ohms. It would dissipate the same then. So, don't fret about 400, it's only .015 off ideal.

Your C22 may not be the same as my C22. Where is yours?? 22,000uf At 100 volts, computer grade CDE preferably, Jer has a l;ine on some Adcoms,(CDE built) in the 22,000UF/100 volt.

Is that a Weller WES 51??

It`s a WTCPT, great general purpose iron, I`ve had it for nearly 20 years now, bought that model because we had those at work running 24/7 for years on end.
I remember bitching at how expensive those things were at he time :)

Those look like nice caps, wonder if they come pre formed. My amp does plus and minus 106 vdc. I know caps of yesteryear were under rated 20 or so %, is that still the case?
A BR swap would be good too, yes?

I doubt they will take 120 volts but you can probably form them to handle the 6 extra volts. Those are new old stock so they are likely years old and probably OK for your 106 volts.

Most brand new caps have been cost reduced to the limit. They have a surge rating but I would not push them at over rated voltage for continuous periods of time.

=/- 106 is a HOTTIE!!!! Should do right at 500wpc if not more....

730 wpc into 4, both loaded and driven. 8 ohm test is OK with 5 amp. Takes 8 on the 4 ohm test.
