I was examining the original stylus of my Shure and Stanton cartridges. Both they have a thin wire that it's one side is soldered on the stylus case and the other on the cantilever.
What's the purpose of this wire? Is it part of the suspension or it connects electrically the cantilever with the body for grounding (to discharge maybe any statics?)?
All the third party stylus don't have this wire.
