I might be interested in getting a nice Phase Linear 700B for a WOPL conversion.

Another member here told me expect to pay about $400.00 for one. Been watching EBAY and some other audio sites and it looks like they sell
for at least twice that amount and usually more. With the exception of one that was recently listed as "NIB" for $2,400.00 I have not seen one in a long time. :sad7:

Are you guys hoarding them all?

There was a 700 Series II that made my heart skip a beat- $399, no bids, unsold, but $100 for shipping (ripoff!). Of the 700s, I personally like the Series II with the cylon output meters.

I think the main issue with these old amps is finding one that hasn't been all goobered up and is going to look good on the rack after doing all these upgrades. A lot of the ones I see look like they've been dragged behind a truck, so the good lookin' ones will go for a bit more.

LOL... Your avatar would indicate you might prefer the cylon meters.

Those big analog VU meters are my favorite. Would like to see a picture of one with the white LED upgrade.

I don't hate vinyl, I just can't stand when they mold LPs into ashtrays.

Or glue cassettes on walls as RETRO ART.

True but isn't this the Home of the WOPLers?

I figured somebody had taken Cory's offer by now.

Serious? It's sold.
Some guy has been trying to sell an entire SPEC rack system around here for $3800...don't think people can get past the price of a good used car on that one.
