What Are You Doing This Christmas

On Christmas I do a lot of thinking. I think about the things God has done for me all year. I'm not so much into gifts. I buy my wife jewelry months ahead of time. She stocks up on the clothing I have worn out and gives it to me. I just told her she could have gotten me a maid service for the year. LOL Lately I leave destruction in my wake. And I think of all the people in my life and I thank God mostly for them.

So that is mostly what I do on Christmas. Mostly I just give thanks.

I never do very much on Christmas. Yesterday I got together with my mother and father and all my brothers and sisters and their children. We eat and socialize and played Christmas Bingo for fun. I ended up watching half of the movie It's a wonderful life on a big screen tv in my brothers family room to get away from everyone for awhile. Everyone else was on the main level socializing and I was on the lower level by myself watching the movie.

Today I am working on getting things done here at home, like laundry and house cleaning etc. I will go over to my sisters for dinner later on this afternoon.

I went with Mom and Dad to my aunt's and we had a fairly simple meal, no excess really, everybody got something before the dessert was served.

The menu:

Whole bone-in (and fairly lean) ham
Corn chowder
Sweet potatoes
Rolls
Scalloped potatoes

Dessert:

Strawberry Cheesecake

I got two cards.

One from a Mr. Jackson

Another from that same guy and his friend Abraham

We all had a ball!

Grandma asked me something I never expected

She asked me to make a CASSETTE of my singing!

Wow. Not the average turkey and football
