Thought I'd mosey in and see a few old friends. Going crazy at work creating all the marketing publications for next season and ohbytheway, we need you to redo your website before you leave for the summer next week so I probably won't be around much for a few days but wanted to say hi to some folks whose thoughts I've missed for awhile.

Just got a Revox PR99 tuned up; trying to make it look a bit less "industrial", if you will. Perhaps wood side panels or a case? Otherwise we're just keepin' on keepin' on.

It's good to have you join up, Bob. How are things at the recording studio? Any outdoor venues that you have scheduled for recording any acts? You haven't been muscling around in the Mustang at the University?

Nando.

Funny you should ask, Nando. Whilst ambling down the Natchez Trace this afternoon, the boss calls from her office and tells me she ran into the head of the English Department, who is also about to become the Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences. She didn't know he was a bass player in a local band (I did but hadn't thought any of it) and he didn't know of my recording project. Long story short, they're going to come over to record and I've now got someone who might be able to help get all that donated gear up and running.

Otherwise, I'm headed to Dallas for a couple of days. Am enjoying merging into freeway traffic a lot more with the big pony. New Koni shocks are pretty sweet, too...

Bob: Good timing on the recording session, at the very least. Would this be something you would cover in your blog? I checked your blog out about two months ago. For those who don't know you that well, it would be entertaining to hear what you do for a living and your special interests... including the ol' Miata. I'm sure you have been loving hearing that throaty roar as you punch it on the freeway on-ramp with the Mustang. It's addictive, isn't it?

Twist my arm, Nando. I do need to add the blog address to a sig line here, I guess. Will post up current doings elsewhere tonight. Got nothing better to do while sitting in a hotel room in Vicksburg, MS.

I would add the link to your signature, Bob, as it does give others an idea of what keeps you invigorated with audio. And you brought a tape deck there for a friend? Anyone I might know? It's got to be a special deck - was it one of yours?

It's the Tascam 32 I acquired a couple of years ago. Snagged a Revox PR99 not too long ago and it's a two track, 15 ips machine also. A Tapeheads member in Austin, Tx bought it and we mutually decided it would be better not to ship it.

Any excuse for BBQ...

Bob: So it seems you are keeping your number of R2R decks at a static count: one comes in and another goes out. I bet that Revox PR99 is a gem.
