I guess I should probably introduce myself.

Right out of high school I bought a Technics rack system at a big box store. I thought I had the best stereo around, and I continued to believe it for 17 years. Then in 2005 I heard a friends Classe system with B & W speakers. Suddenly, I knew better sound was possible so I started researching hi-fi. I started out by buying a pair of Jensen era Advent speakers, which I still have, and a Sansui 9900Z. I moved on from there to my current system of a Phase Linear 400 (rebuilt by Mr. Laatsch with Whiteoak components), Audio Research preamp, Dahlquist DQ10, Lineaum LT and Klipsch Heresy speakers - I switch them out depending on my mood and my wife's tolerance (she loves the Dahlquists, and hates every other piece of stereo gear in the house).

I am also a big music junky. I am a regular at record shows around the Pacific Northwest. I listen to all types of music except hiphop, rap and modern country. I also try to attend as many concerts as I can by blue grass, and classic rock performers. I will be seeing Blue Oyster Cult two nights in a row in July. It is going to be a great summer.

Jimmy has also experienced the horns in the masters chair in the sweet spot. He hasn't been the same since.

Welcome to Phoenix, Jimmy. Lee has a knack for elevating any of his friends' threshold for "more-gain-more-pain" amplifiers. It sounds like you have a great combination of pieces in your system. One comment: co-existence in one's home requires loving every piece of furniture you own, including Klipsch speakers. Geri and I make it to one concert a year. Last year, we had a three day outdoor music festival where we live. I think it's safe to say all of us, here, are music lovers. BOC should be a good one in July!

Hey Jimmy, welcome to the asylum! :cyclopsani:

Nando have you heard the new one from BOC - Bad Channels OST? Listening to the first track now.. hmm.. rocks pretty good.
New BOC? If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have known. I, only, saw BOC in an outdoor, multi-band concert in about 1980. Heart was the last act. Ted Nugent played, too. My cousin, and I, and a few friends smuggled in booze. Outdoor concerts are the best! Do you have it on CD, Jerry?

Nando.

Do you have a digital rig that will play mp3/flac?

BOC two nights in a row??
You know you have reached middle age when your favorite bands are playing fairs and casinos. BOC is playing a fair in Corvallis, Oregon, and one in Vancouver, WA the next night. The shows are about 100 miles apart. I will be taking a carload of teenagers to the WA show - they all seem to know "Godzilla."

I blame Lee for the addition of the Heresys. He blasted my ear drums for an hour with his horns, and mentioned how much he likes the Heresys. The small size of the Klipsch helps with co-existence.
