I hold Master Status in irreverance. I answered your last reply that I could use a couple of XPL909's on other forum.
Thanks for the welcome and your help.

Introduction

Greetings Everybody,

What started out 9 months ago, when I retired to Oregon, for a nice stereo system has morphed into an obsession.
(I just can't say no). Presently I am White Oaking (it is a verb?) a Phase Linear 400, and restoring a Sansui 5050,
2 MCS 3275's and a MCS 3125. I am running out of space and worry about floor bearing weight.

Yes - on this site White Oaking aka WO is used as a noun, verb and whatever else works for ya. Man you have a nice layout there - what a great space saver putting the big screen on a set of speakers. You get the extra set of speakers taking up what could have been a floor stand - great idea. I may use that one.

The CS77 speakers under the TV act as my center speaker, I have CS77A's next to the couch for
surround.

Hi Jim
Great to see you joined us here. Lots of great help and information.

Joe
Thanks Joe

We (my retired EE brother in law) measured all the output transistors in my PL400 and sure enough
1 was shorted. We removed the shorted one and the dc offset dropped from 80 volts to 21 volts.
Being the electronics guru he is, he realized that one channels fuse was burned out. I guess you
can't have dc offset when there is nothing to offset. After the fuse was replaced the dc offset on
both channels was between 4 and 5 mv. As soon we replace the transistor the White Oak boards
go in.

Thanks again for your help
