Decided to jump back into vinyl a few years back and purchased a Pro-Ject Debut to get myself started. Since owning, I upgraded it a bit and it is now a pretty decent table. Includes their upgraded acrylic platter, cork mat, and a brand new Grado Prestige Red cart that throws a great stage and a very detailed rendition of what's pressed into those grooves. The cart has had approximately 10 songs played when dialing her in. I picked up a Kenwood 2055 recently (Corian type base) and outfitted it with a 2M Blue and have decided to keep it instead of doing a quick flip. The sound difference between the two is about nil.....but the Kenwood matches the vintage look of most my other gear. Yesterday.....I came across a smoking deal on a VPI Prime and if all works out.....the Kenwood will be up for sale next :) The Pro-Ject is a full manual operation, sings like a bird with the new cart, and is a lovely hot rod red with a clear scratch free dust cover. If your looking to jump into vinyl, this will get you up and running and draw you down another path worth traveling. Got close to $700 into her.....for my brethren here I will offer her up at $425 plus actual shipping. Will be shipped in original box packed in another box with LOT'S of padding. Will also include original platter and rubber mat if you want them. Also included will be the warranty card and original receipt for the new cart so you get full factory warranty on it. Will sell for $250 without the cart if you have a different one in mind to use....but I will tell you....had that Grado been on there since the beginning, I probably wouldn't have the Kenwood. Astonishing difference!!!!

Before kicking the Pro-Ject to the curb have you tried running the acrylic platter without a mat? Should make a difference that you may like.

Did I fail to mention??!!! It sounds the best when ran thru the phono stage on the little Luxman set I have up for sale :) seriously though, it would make a killer office/workshop/bedroom type setup. Sound quality for days!!!!

I have and yes I like her naked....
I have 3 turntables sitting here now and only 2 inputs....somebody HAS to go :) the pro-ject is a great table to get your feet wet. With the upgrades, she sings like a bird and will make somebody very happy. Can't say enough good things about her.....but Daddy wants a VPI :)

Just jumping on plane back to Denver, but wanted to update listing. She now comes with a 65 gram AND 75 gram tone arm weights and has been outfitted with a new Ortophon 2M Blue. Couldn't dial in the blue with out the bigger tone arm weight, but will be dialing her in this afternoon when I get home. Hate to see her go, but have too many turntables to justify keeping them all. I have been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest lately with work, should calm down quite a bit after next week and maybe I can get started on WOPLing the 700B.
