I was told on another forum that I could not use a tonearm from an Elac Miracord 770H on a 50H II but I did it anyway. The arm tube was a bit thicker so the arm rest needed filing and the headshell portion is a bit "clunkier" but it fit fine and works just like the original which was beyond repair.

Well done, Gary. You are very resourceful, making do with what you have around. My dad was the same way. He was told he couldn't do a lot of things, but proved many of his workmates and acquaintances wrong. Of course, I knew he could do almost anything.

Are we going to see more pictures of it in action?

Nando.

What a neat table...GOOD JOB! Saving something from a scrapheap is the most admirable work, especially when others doubt you. I hope you'll get years of continued use from it!

Nice to see an old Elac Miracord back in action...those along with the Duals were always high on my list of gotta haves when I was in my formative years.
