not having a dedicated center channel in my ht system for music, i always thought i wasnt missing much if anything by routing the center signal to the mains. last week i found an AR C225 PS center on craigs for cheap and had to bite. well now i know what i was missing. even though this center is nothing special really, by having the center signal routed to a dedicated speaker, it sounds like the entire system has opened up. with surround and stereo playback, vocals are obviously more clear and detailed, and the 5.1 mixes are more coherent in their overall sound. somehow this small addition has made everything sound better.

you are missing all the dialog if you don't have a center, most mains are not voiced well for reproducing dialog. Glad you are enjoying your new find, that is a good center speaker

I've got both pairs in front, A and B, CS-A31 and two Pioneer AV rears from the 90s so I don't have that problem. Wait until I actually have the rest in...

previously i had the center signal routed to the mains, so i was getting the dialogue, but its more articulate now. i love the Oppo, great universal player.
