Got an email from National Audio Company that was interesting to me, figured I would share:

.....New for the ultimate analog audiophile market, National Audio will offer ¼" open reel tape duplication and packaging in 2014. Ask for details! This is a "one-of-a-kind" service. Thanks again for your business. It is a pleasure serving you. May 2014 be your "golden" year!

Wonder if this means that we may have another player in the open reel market down the road.

Very good news. I'm hoping that NAC will be competitive with other suppliers. Please let us know more, Douglas, or is the information available to the general public on their web site?

Saehan in Korea manufactures NAC's Low Noise/ High Output tape, but I have no idea as to where their open reel tape will be manufactured/ sourced from. Nothing listed on the website yet, Nando. Just got the e- mail from them today about a small price increase for their blank cassettes and the reel to reel duplication services. I will be sure to pass on any additional info that I come across.

I am going to put in an order next month for some cassettes and was gonna get a little more info then.

Thanks. One of the reasons I don't record on many open reel tapes is the availability of tape for a fair price which works well on my Pioneer decks.

Open reel tape from NAC

Looks like NAC is going to start carrying ATR tape after the first of the year. Cheaper directly through ATR or Vintage King.

Oh well, still waiting on ATR 10" X 3600' tape.........and waiting:laughing9:!
