Tons of ranches down there, hundreds of pick-ups with trailers convoying down from all over to help round up the animals, thousands of horses, donkeys and cattle have been saved. Many folks had to leave with just the clothes on their backs, couldn't even grab the cat or dog   , dewpoint at 3 degrees, humidity at 8% and windy, it's gonna get alot worse real fast...... :angryfire:

It's not even 1/4 contained either, the last time I heard on TV (last morning). Pure hell.

And some darn Texan says; I think we're gonna need more sauce!

Flying over the northern fires a little over a week ago, that really looks bad from above to see that much area on fire. and the displaced families and the wildlife that can't escape.

No info on the net yet, but Tv is breaking news that Ft. Huachuca is preparing to evacuate the base. Some of you guys have been there, it's a massive complex biggest installation in southern AZ. Home of the Army's biggest linguistics center for evesdropping all over the planet. The fire is small compared to the monster up north in the White Mountains, but intense enough to create it's own weather system  ! The base is the biggest employer for hundreds of miles around, Sierra Vista has about 53,000 residents, hundreds of thousands in livestock. This link should be updated at 4pm local time, about 20mins from now, http://azstarnet.com/news/local/wildfir ... 002e0.html , not looking good

How far is it from you? Only 17% contained and heading north. Not good.

Larry
It's 75 miles SE of Tucson, I live in the middle of town, so no worries about my stuff, I couldn't even begin to imagine moving all my cool crap outta here  , wind gust up to 40mph down there and no let up in the winds until Monday afternoon. On the 5pm news they were showing sherriffs pulling people out of their homes physically, no personal items, no pets, just loading them up in SUV's with huge flames in the background. Some folks are staying put, but they're handing their kids over to the deputies  Say a prayer or two or three!!

I have some friends there, and I like to stir up trouble  , spreadin' da love man, spreadin' da love :bootyshake:

There's some guys there that are buds from my old AK days that I stay in touch with there, plus there's more NASCAR fans there than this joint :spiderman:

Yes Stuwee don't you know there is an unwritten rule you can not be member of a different forum. It is desloyal to this forum. I forbade it. You can not join other forums. Then I must cut down on my 20 or so I'm a member of. I forget I even joined and it says welcome speakerman. Some crazy stuff in this world I tell ya. LOL

Hmm didn't know you owned any Polk? Yolk' maybe. A far as Nascar I can talk about it but don't have patience or time to watch. I do watch paint dry on occasion but just can't get into trash car. :bootyshake:

I don't have Polks, tho Jerry's SDA's make me think I should give a listen sometime, the Polk Forums are one of the oldest on the planet, 18 years now IIRC, that's a long time, which reminds me, Dorokusai aka 'Mark' is in charge of The Capitalfest on our banner here, Larry do you know him???

I'm ignoring your vile comment,,,in fact you heathen,,,,so close and yet so far.... lucky you

I know you've been around cars and racin alot, I personally can barely stand those angry high pitched buzzing 15,000rpm Indy and F1 machines, the sound is annoying, I'll take a big V8 at 8,500 anyday, that gives me a stiffy!!!!!!

BTW, Steve and his wife Bev and their neighbors got very lucky, that fire in the video, was started by a bulldozer on the base making a fire line, the shovel hit a rock and the spark started it (that's how freakin' dry it is out there) The firefighters pounded it hard since there was about 800 homes right there! That fire is pretty much out  . Major red flag warnings out for tommorrow 50 to 60mph gusts :angryfire:

I've had 2 nosebleeds this week, it's dry, dry, dry
