It took a while to get the switch rod back in and it's still kinda goofy to me plus I get traces across the screen with no probe on and I have to learn it now.

But I am on the way here.

Nice setup there Steven. A scope can be your best friend with electronics. Did you get a manual with the 465M?

It seems that your intensity is set a bit high - you may want to tweek it some. Your scope will auto trace dependent on what trigger mode you're in - what you are seeing is normal.

I DL'ed the manual but it's written in rocket scientist. My friend Warren (AK's Dr*Audio) fixed it up and I bought it a couple years ago. He fold me to watch some You Tube videos for instruction.

I haven't touched anything I didn't twist silly before the original power switch fell apart after shipping (the rest is fine) and will adjust it shortly. Right now a friend is here helping me change out a power cord to get an amp sent out.

I agree - from your photo the power switch looks a little dicey. Here's a photo of one with what appears to be a properly working switch.

That's done but I have to put a new fuse in the amp.

This is a crude diagram...the switch is almost at the back and a long rod is connected to the switch with a clamp collar.

This can't be quite the right one and it was a bitch to connect it with that in mind and the cramped quarters...I finally used electrical tape and stuff to hold it.

I think I've posted pics of it in Chex Orange here in DIY lately. It doesn't seem to match the rod exactly and that made it a PITA.

A scope is a great thing to have if you are messing with anything electronic..... Great workshops all start one piece at a time.

If you have not already checked them out, goto both the Tek and HP websites as they have lots of application notes on scopes and such. There are also some very good introduction guides to get you started.

Enjoy!
