If you send packages and letters, WOPL parts etc. then a one ounce letter may go up 5 cents to 55 cents under proposed new postage rates, and a Priority Mail package that currently costs $7.20 will be $7.90.

Been some mismanagement in the Postal System. Seems the ramped up to handle billions of pieces of mail just at email and spam took over much of the advertising junk mail they were stuffing in boxes.

Thing that gets me is the big discount mass shippers get compared to the regular guy. How much does it cost them to ship that amp across the country vs. what the little guy pays? So much e-commerce and the package can get to your door cheaper than to their store in your area. Someone is paying for all that cost of individual shipping.
 
Trump just gripes about Amazon giving them a raw deal when they claim they make money on that.
 
USPS is a 501c(3), a charitable organization of sorts, as set up by President Nixon...guess Bezos likes charity.

There is a lot of theft in the postal system starting with first class stamps. Just a few weeks ago a postmaster was arrested for stealing all most a half million stamps and selling them on ebay and the web. Then you have forgery. The US has the highest problem of stamp and postal theft in the world. China and NK are responsible a long with several other countries for postal forgeries.

Contract freight carries are one of the biggest budget cost the P.O. has. Between UPS and FedEx the cost is two billon a year plus there are hundreds of small carriers that transfers mail between facilities.

Prefunding the employment retirement account that is blamed for the deficient is just an excuse the P.O has been using for years.
