No, but it can do a lot more than my old one. Storing, or capturing events to recall later is the reason I bought it. I was lost after turning it on, so out comes the owners manual.

Lee, that is a sweet o'scope. I have the venerable Tektronix 466 analog, two-channel, storage scope like the one that I used in the Navy. It only goes to 100 Mhz, but I think that is good enough for my audio use. How are you set for probes?

It still takes some fiddling to get that Tek scope dialed in, some days I wish for a digital scope.

Because your o'scope is an educational model, there is a CD floating around that gives some excellent operational tips and other information. Tektronix may still have them or you can burn a copy from someone who has one.

Mark, it came with the "TDS Educator's Classroom and Lab Resource CD". Good thing cause I'm lost. It will be nice to check rise time which is slew rate correct??

Photo's are the heart of any rebuild thread, they gotta be, they save soooooooooo much typing.

Very SWEET - great choice.

I'm fortunate that I get to use the newer test equipment at work and the Tektronix o'scopes are the workhorses for us. It takes a while to get used to the soft keys but your fingers will be flying in short order. Being able to capture waveforms and saving them and/or porting them to another device is invaluable.

Can't wait to see the results - have fun!

Tek are nice scopes..... I bought a simliar scope about 9 months ago from a company called Rigol which actually builds scopes for Agilent. The new features on the digital scopes are very handy. Just being able to save and compare waveforms is priceless let alone the filtering and triggering options. I actually gave all of my old scopes away except a fast 4 channel Gould that work sold as salvage for $10.00 this spring.

BTW: If you do digital things those combo scope/analyzer are very nice too.

Now for an arbitrary waveform generator..... I did see something neat yesterday for a generator. Cypress makes a Psoc demo board that can do many waveform generation things and would make a good addition to the toy box.

You will enjoy the new toy.

The Audio Precision analyzer has a dandy signal generator built in. Square and sine. From zero to 120Khz.
