Anyone around here fans of The Allman Brothers Band?

If so, you might like this soon to be released live set:

Yep this is from the first beacon run in NYC that they did. From 92 this would be dickey and warren on guitar and Allen woody on bass. It will be good!!

This was IMO the best version of the brothers since Duane . I think everybody wil agree the Duane years are the best!

I had a discussion with an old friend about this years ago. While Duanes flame was put out far to early and we have no idea where he would have gone I often wondered if Warren had not surpassed him. Not trying to stir the pot, just some I used to discuss with an old freind (now playing with Duane) who used to tour as a supporting guitar player with many of the old blue guys......

Of course he said I was wrong as he felt Duane would have kept getting better. It was easy to see his point and agree but Warren was/is a fine player and I found these years of the ABB to be very good. Far better than the next version IMO.......

Duane was awesome . But yes warren has became a Superbad ass. Especially during that period. But honestly I think warren has peaked. It's all same shit nowadays . Derek is gonna surpass them all if hasent already. Just my opinion

I can agree with Warren peaking ;)

I stopped at "Dose" with Mule........

I really enjoyed his segment on Weir Here where he talked about getting Jery's "Tiger" guitar to use and when he was playing it with Bobby.

I can't remember who was playing with them in '99 when I saw them last. It was a good show but not up to the early stuff or the Warren/Allen stuff imo.

There was the dickey/warren era. Then shit got funny for a second. There was dickey/Derek then Derek/jimmy herring then warren/Derek shit got terrible during the switch lol. I. Love Derek and warren but not together lol. They have both said this is there last year and leaving abb. so we will see if the band retires or what's nxt

It was Dickey and Derek I do believe and Derek was very young and not quite "there" yet. Saw them on the pier in Seattle. Show was good but did not hold a candle to the Warren/Allen show I saw in '93 iirc
