I always have a lot of skepticism for cheap tools and testers, especially from "over there", but this is one that for $22.00 I figured is worth a try. There have been plenty of videos on YT regarding its accuracy and versatility, all or most are positive on this thing.

The tester has a color screen and gives pretty accurate information, best I can validate with my limited test tools (ohm meter, etc ... no semiconductor curve tracer). You simply insert your 2- or 3-leg device into slots 1-3, close the ZIF socket lever and hit "Start". A few seconds later your device is identified, complete with measured values and polarity or legs identified. I tested a LED and observed they flash the device so you can verify function and color. The capacitor tester also provides the ESR. I did a couple in-circuit tests of devices and it seems to have identified them properly - as resistor, diode and transistor, respectively. Handy for sure.

They include a "calibration" tool, a strip of male pins tied together that is inserted in positions 1-3 and "Start" pressed to perform that function. Also included are a set of micro push-hook clips that should also be re-calibrated when inserted in 1-3. There is an IR receiver that you can use to test remote control functions

Pictures attached...10uf capacitor (discharged first), a random transistor, resistor, speaker (identified as an inductor). Also tested the IR output of a TV remote. Pretty cool tester for that alone!

Figured I'd pass along as I thought it is a cool little tool.

You never have too much tapedecks ^^

I have a similar tester at work but without the ir remote analyzer, that's a pretty cool feature.
Works well on passive components & bipolar transistors but can't recognize mosfet, igbt, scr and triac.

I'm not sure I have any of those around here. I've been fairly limited in the things I have worked with the past couple years ... pretty much just our PL and related audio things.
