I read the shootout.I can tell you if there was hiss from the Dragon. Something is wrong.

I shop for 2 decks. Naks and Yamahas.I have owned many.Almost every brand you can think of. No Tandberg. My 1200 comes out of rotation today. The 2000 is going in. Now if I can figure out how to erase.LOL Nothing wrong with other decks.Well I guess I'm lying or they would be here.LOL I almost bid on a LX-5.

I have belted many decks and sent them on their way. I did pick this up today. In a moment of weakness. For the price. If it is the cam.I know how to fix it in 2 minutes.I found out by mistake by putting my fingers where they don't belong. Well here it is.It may stay for awhile.

I'm not going to lie to you. I am smiling very big this AM. I will ask. Did I do good? That is just watching and waiting. That just might be the living room deck.

This is about decks right? LOL Not to be selfish. If you find other places to shop tell your friends. Don't tell the world. Then it becomes a bad place to shop. I can tell now. Man I have bought some very good music and other things from there. Not in awhile. Things have gotten stupid. The Goodwill site. All you have to do is ask. I'll find it. Almost every day I search for hours.Looking for that deal. Use to look at tapes.Haven't even looked on the sites. Don't need no stinking tapes. I'm a little stupid at times. On that group buy. Do you know how many tapes I bought for myself. None I may make a deal and have some metals made.

The ramblings of a medicated mad man. LOL

Larry: in regards to the Cassette Deck Shootout, it was discovered later by a TH member who bought that particular Nakamichi Dragon that the the NAAC wasn't working. The NAAC motor was constantly spinning, but the pointer was stationary. It could have been the gear in the NAAC box had unthreaded itself. But, that's how it goes when you conduct a Shootout. Funny, after the publicity of the Shootout any of the Innovative Audio decks used in the event sold: Nakamichi Dragon, two Pioneer CT-F1000s, and the Sony 730ES.

I do like Nakamichi decks, and I have an RX-505, but I would love to buy a Dragon. There are two for sale at Innovative Audio and this time the new technician, Brian, has the experience to properly service them. And a ZX-9 is on its way, too.

You want me sleeping on the deck or the neighbors deck. I have done some crazy stuff. I don't think I want to explain a 1000.00 deck.It would be done though and I would smile. I know I can do it.I just can't at this moment. I'm happy with what is going on around me. Well it is time to pick out the floor.LMBO New seating. LMBO

So, is this thread about "Tape Decks" or "How To Survive On Your Outdoor Deck After You Bought A Deck." Have fun shopping Larry. I hope you are colour-coordinated.

Hi Larry,
I just had a CR-3A here and the motor is also an issue not just the contacts. I sent this customers deck to Nakdoc in TN to have him deal with it as the motor part is not so easily obtained. Just like the V770 deck I worked on not too long ago. The mode motor in that deck had no metal rear bearing so I found and put one in. Now this guy has the only long lasting mode motor in any V770 (Teac).
I was not impressed by the response of the CR-3A deck as my alignment tapes told me it had worn out heads- I don't know maybe a different standard of EQ.
