horns for high spl's and also for dynamics.

i like the guy's opinion on enclosures... basically that boxes do all kinds of bad things to the sound, but when he designs his own speaker project what does he do but put the drivers in a box.

Being aware of a shortcoming does not preclude it's use, it may be the lesser of evils.

I could be a two speaker guy. Would love to have a pair of Ohm Model F's again..........there are some voices i could get lost in listening through those.

thats true as every speaker ever made represents its own set of compromises. i thought it was interesting because he was extensively critical about the shortcomings of boxes and barely addressed the shortcomings of alternative designs.

The only box I'm not fond of is the velvet lined one they'll chuck me in at checkout time.

Started taking measurements today. Had to see what I could squeeze into the box. I can make everything work. Handle 175 watts 90 SPL. Rubber surround. Get a little thump. Here you go. To keep from getting sag. Turn your woofers 180 yearly.

Norman Labs. Very nice cabs. Think I'll go all Morel. 3 inch midrange and a MDT-30 tweet. 10 inch woofer. Who knows the formula for volume. cubed ft. I think this woofer takes 2.78. It is going to move some are. For this woofer I would port to get me some leeway on the size. Lee I'm about to use the blue meter. Thanks buddy. How do I check capacitance. I could charge it and check what comes out. LOL
