It's in Craigslist - a Son of Ampzilla, and it's only $175. However, it's five hours away in Albuquerque, and I don't even have a real preamp. Is it worth the money, the drive, the wait until I can find a suitable pre???

Some people say it is the best sounding of the line up. I've never heard one. Has it had any work done to it? What kind of cosmetic shape is it in? The paint on the meters fades with time. I have an Ampzilla II. The price is ok, around $250 is what they usually go for on eBay. Check out www.gasaudio.net.

I ran a pair of them for quite a while, they are very good sounding amps, worth the $175, they sell all the time for $250.

Find a nice GAS (still James's work)Thaedra (best) or a Thoebe, (Thalia is ok but you will want to move up quickly) Thoebe is what I am still running as my preamp. wonderful phono section, never let it go, even way over the Sansui CA3000 Pre I had.

If you like lots of slides to play with a SAE 2900 is a nice Parametric Preamp, more of James's work.
