I've been looking for something like a Variac...

It's not a typical variac..... It is a box which provides a regulated or fixed AC voltage to the load. AC line voltage varies throughout the day as customers turn devices on and off. If you want to see this change take your AC voltmeter (with good leads) and measure the voltage at your AC outlets at various times of the day. Typically Sunday morning the voltage is much higher than say 5:00 on a hot weekday afternoon.

Robert good point that is why I use filters on all my equipment. They keep it pretty much constant to my components. My Numark has a volt meter built in. I run no less than 119-122 volts at all times.
