I have one extra sitting here. I canceled the Grado. It was suggested by a person I respect a great deal to go with the Jico stylus. He said it fulfills all of his needs. So I think I may just do that.

From the picture I found it looks worth it.

From my perspective, using a high-end turntable, arm and phono preamp the difference the Jico SAS makes is night and day. Properly set up it rivals many moving coils at ten times the price. The problem is most who use it don't think it deserves the best TT, arm, phono preamp . It certainly pays back any $ you spend on the associated gear.
My experience also tells me you get far better transient response in the bass by leaving the Shure brush on. That is unless you're lucky enough to be running an M97XE with Jico SAS stylus on a Towsend 'Rock' turntable with the silicon damping trough.
The Shure /JICO combination also benefits from pressing a piece of Blutak half the size of a match head at the side of the cartridge where the stylus assembly joins the cartridge body. Others claim painting the metal stylus part that's inserted into the cartridge body with nail polish
helps but I've never been brave enough to risk that particular tweak.

From my perspective, and I don't want to sound rude here, the JICO SAS at the standard price IS already a 'special price' for what it is. Probably one of the great audio bargains. It's a shame that moving coil snobs refuse to believe how good this thing is.

Lee is sitting on a pretty nice table with a Shure on it. I paid 150.00 for my Shure with the mod being done. And the Jico on it. You track at 1.25 to 1.50.
