The woman known as Vanity, discovered by Prince and featured in Prince's epic Purple Rain as part of the band Vanity 6, Denise Mathews lived through the hell of addiction to crack cocaine and rose to live the last year of her life as a thoroughly sboer Christian evangelist.
Those years of misery came back to take her life from kidney failure at the age of 57.
