Hi Folks, I thought this would be straight forward...but it's a Phase Linear! My 700 series II (WOPL'ed) has the VU led's at zero for the first second when the amp is powered up. Then they move a few notches above zero. I read somewhere that the filter cap goes bad on the back of the meter pcb. Pulling the amp from the rack, I saw that I had replaced this cap ( 470 ufd, 35 V ) I replaced it again and same problem!
I see that there is a 60 Hz ripple across the cap but the power supply is a bridge. Diodes check OK in cct but I will pull them and check separately. Really hoping that's it but thought I would check in with the experts.
