Wow.. never seen the silver ones!

Interesting description of the Sanyo Plus line with it too. I wonder... I know Sanyo put out some serious BPC crap in the later years, but did they put anything out before the "Plus" line? If it was the same quality as all the BPC stuff, maybe they should've rebranded to get away from the Sanyo stigma? Or I could be way off base and they didn't have anything at all before that?

Prolly could, Web. Stuwee's old A35 didn't go loopy because he drove his ML's with it, but it was because of a design flaw in the power switch.. well documented. Once that was replaced, the A35 was a-ok.. no probs.

I don't see anything earlier than the mid to late 70's under Sanyo in my Orion Blue Book. It looks like the Plus series was their attempt to move upscale.

Stuwee I don't have any ML's but thought I'd yank your chain about Sanyo's and ML's :bootyshake:

Hehe Web, you a funny, funny guy :violent1:. It really sounding amazing with the ML's before the switch let go!

When I went to the audio shop when I bought my first A35, I really wanted the nice Philips amp on the shelf, but the sales guy said you have to hear this new Sanyo. Meh, I said Sanyo :?: So he hooked it up after the Philips, dang it did sound better. So I bought it. I don't remember ever seeing other Sanyo gear before that, and IIRC Hatichi had a hand in the design with the new darlington pack MOS-FETs they were using in the late 70's.

Regardless, they are waaaaaay under the radar, a combo with the quality that set will put out should sell for $300+ used in that condition. I haven't seen the silver faces before either, I wish I had the moola to bid on this, it's right up in Phoenix and give it a test and save shipping. I can give :thumbright: :thumbright: 's up for these babys

Nevermind I was mistaken, had an earlier-posted Plus amp in my mind.
