Sad day for radio astronomy

They didn't hear anything for 57 years and decided that instead of letting it fall, they would cut it down...

Good news is that technological advances over the last 60 years present opportunities for much more economical solutions.

Pretty dingy there.. at least back in 94 when we pulled into Ponce for a few days on the GW.

Anyone remember the "Arecibo Message" that was sent from there in 1974? Guess no aliens with advanced technology live within 46 light years from "here".

So far LOL..

Maybe they did reply and the collapse was the answer?

What was the OGM? Was it something we said?

The message? Pretty much the same as what that Voyager spacecraft has onboard encoded in a gold disc of some sort... probably an LP. Explaining who / what we are and about the world in general.

Yes, it was an LP and it also had a Kenner Close N Play which was the only Audiophile record player that would withstand Gama Rays and take a Neutrino stream with no issues. :)
