Hi, in your opinion, if this works and is decent working condition, is $100 a good buy? Awhile back I saw this in a shop for like $300 and it's still there but he said he'd take $100.

What's it worth non working? I don't know a lot about these.

Thanks

Hi Joe,

I've seen two decks, one a Pioneer RT-707 and an RT-701 sell last year at Innovative Audio for $375 and $325, respectively. I just had my RT-707 tuned up and I'm about to record my first mix tape with it since the refurbishing. If you put $200 into it, it would be well worth it. Try buying a Pioneer NOS take-up reel (PR-85) for it: alone, they can start at $75.

It has the original take up reel on it too. Another plus. I wouldn't know the differences between decks really, until I did a little research but I'm sure you and others can help! I will say that the rack mount design it has, allows more options as to where it could fit and I like that.

The Pioneer decks of that era are classics, built like a tank and beautiful pieces of equipment. Hard to go wrong, I just paid 100.00 for a replacement head for my RTU-11.

A mix tape recording on open reel @ 7 1/2 i.p.s. can't be beat for quality, Joe.

Hi,

For a $100 I would be all over that deal..... Heck, if you don't want it I'll buy from you. Just sent me a PM and we'll work out the details.
