One conclusion...

Rat shack fuseholders.. stay away from them! All three were brand new, and two basically suffered the same fate of the outer ring failing (that's why the caps were sticking out)...

Back to snip suck position solder.. the patient will live again... :mrgreen:

Go to Mouser and get the decent quality Bussman fuseholders. The best fuse holders I have in my collection are ones I have harvested off old scrap equipment I have found.

Thank ya.. I'll behereallnight... :mrgreen::mrgreen:

Anywhoo.. Hey Lee n Joe... I just have to ask this again til I get it through my skull. When should the bias be checked and adjusted? Should it be right after power on at room temp, or after 10 mins idle, or ? We're seeing 320 on this guy right after power on, which seems kinda low to me.

Ron.. all 3 holders have been replaced, but here is what you NEED to know - The one all the way to the left (closest to the wall with the switch) takes AGC fuses, and it's been populated with a 10A slow blow per Lee-Instruction. The other two are AGX.. don't use the AGC's here, ever ever ever... they wear out der spring. The main (AGC) guy with the slow blow is fine, but the fuses are just too long for the other two. Note that wasn't the case here, as the rat shack guys were all AGC.. but those turned out to be junk obviously so we're back to the ones that the amp was built with. I'll pack ya a few AGX's when I ship it back..

Joe if you have a specific part number that would be great, because I tried doing 'er by eye looking at the pics and specs but ended up with 4 useless holders I can't use.. hehe.

382 on the right, 390 on the left.. about right where it should be, eh?
Yep, not enough to mess with but as nice as Joe's board adjusts it's no problem putting it right on the money, or getting them the same...
