Noooooooooooooo!!! Don't do that Larry, you defrag when your reading a file.

What are you messing with it for? is it not working right?

Don't touch it till Graham checks in tonight!!!!!

It is getting very slow to load. I can look at the files before I defrag. These are files. Just music files.

Larry, no need to defrag, the drive was packed very carefully in a one pass continuous write. If you have deleted anything and there are gaps it should not be a big deal to give it a defrag. If you F**k it up I can send another it's up to over 900GB now.

It was fragmented. Not bad. Has it been a year. I have to get some money and I'll start the one for the forum. So we can do one with our favorites. Then we can just transfer it over when we are done. We can all have one. Nothing fancy. Do we all use Windows 7?

As usual I am late to the conversation..... Is this the open source RockBox operating system that is used for portable MP3 players?

If it is I have only done a defrag after lots of erasing and before addition of individual songs. Can't say that I really noticed much difference to be honest. BTW, my MP3 is an old Archos hard disk device running RockBox operating system. I figured the defrag would sorta gather the pieces and stick them somewhat together, but who knows for sure.
