Unfortunate news. My youngest son is a big fan of his, more than even I.

Nando.

My old man was a huge Lou fan. He passed that on to me and my brother. Either RnR Animal or Transformer will be making an appearance on the TT today some time.

Thats what I chose too. Probably one of the better live albums ever made.

Go easy, Lou. Just played Transformer a week ago and thought how brilliant that album is. Gonna spin Berlin or some VU tonight.

Played Coney Island Baby and VU: Loaded here today.

This week's project... Lou Reed Mix Tape. Hardest part will be cutting it down to 90 minutes, this may end up a 2 parter.

Loaded is so on tomorrow's playlist. Maybe dig out the Phish Halloween show from Vegas '98 and listen to that second set where they cover a good portion of that album.

Just one more thing, speaking of Lou Reed...
Last time I saw him live was when he toured the New York album. Great show and a textbook example of how an established artist can put on a fresh show and still please everyone. He did the entire New York album start to finish, then took an intermission, came back and played his solo hits, going back in time. Took a break and then played an encore of Velvet Underground songs. You got to hear and he got to play all the new stuff and you still got to hear everything you came for. Great way to do a show and he was in fine form right around that period.
